SALT LAKE CITY — A Salt Lake man pleaded guilty Monday to killing a man in a violent home invasion and robbery. Landon Kavani Johnson , 20, admitted to killing 18-year-old Eric Padilla when he attempted to rob the man on Sept. 17. In a deal with prosecutors, additional charges against Johnson were dismissed, including aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary, first-degree felonies; and obstructing justice, a second-degree felony. According to police, Padilla and two others were in the bedroom of an apartment at Sky Harbor Apartments , 221 N. Sun Harbor Terrace , playing video games when there was a knock at the door. Padilla did not live at the apartment, and someone else answered the door. When the door opened, Johnson entered and grabbed the man who had opened the door by the neck, pointing a large silver revolver at him, charging documents state , telling the man, "Give me everything you got." A judge ruled Thursday that web hosting company DreamHost must turn over data from an Inauguration Day protest website to federal prosecutors looking to find evidence against people charged with rioting during the event. D.C. Superior Court Chief Judge Robert Morin said there would be safeguards in place to address First Amendment concerns raised by the company, which said it was “problematic” to turn over such sensitive information. As a result of the ruling, investigators will be able to review emails related to the website DisruptJ20 .org and identify those who sent and received communications through the domain. But the judge, who ruled from the bench, ordered the government to abide by strict rules to minimize the collection of information about individuals who communicated through the website but committed no crime. “I am going to be supervising their search,” Judge Morin told the lawyers. CONROE, Texas- A 2-alarm fire at an apartment complex in Conroe destroyed 8 units late Saturday night , officials said.  According to the Conroe Fire Department , they responded to a lighting strike at Autumn Woods Apartments located in the 2000 block of Plantation Drive around 9:50 p.m.  Upon arrival, heavy fire was seen coming from a roof of an apartment building and a second alarm was requested. They were able to get the fire under control after about an hour and limit the damage to half of the apartment building.  No injuries were reported. Officials said eight units of the 16 in the building were destroyed by the fire.  The American Red Cross responded to scene to help provide shelter for the building's occupants.  The fire department is undergoing an investigation into the cause of the fire. They said it doesn't seem to be "suspicious in nature" at this time.  © 2017 KHOU-TV

Pastor William Henry Dewberry III , of Church of God in Christ in Memphis, was reportedly inspired to respond to the photo. “I’ll love to eat your booty @nickiminaj,” Dewberry allegedly wrote in the comments section on Nicki Minaj’s Instagram page, according to Complex. When it was discovered that the comment came from Dewberry’s account, some in the religious community was appalled by his actions. Dewberry went to Facebook and asked for prayers because he claimed that someone had made a fake account under his name. However, the account features a multitude of images of Dewberry and his family and there are interactions between him and his followers. Jukin Media, the company behind viral sensations such as Pizza Rat and Chewbacca Mask Lady , will nearly double its office space in Culver City to produce more original programming off its trove of user- generated video clips . The company, which buys the rights to amateur videos that are shared widely, expects to see a greater percentage of its business shift toward hosted shows that showcase those videos, not unlike an “America’s Funniest Home Videos ,” but for the social media set . To accommodate that strategy, the company plans to expand its 16,000-square-foot office at Jefferson and La Cienega boulevards with an additional 14,000-square- foot production space next door.
