Fire crews extinguish structure fire at Cypress Grove Apartments - wistv.com

Crews had the fire under control within five minutes of arrival. (Source: RayomMedia) WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Crews with the Wilmington Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at the Cypress Grove Apartments Thursday night . According to the WFD, firefighters arrived to the scene around 11:37 p.m. and found light smoke showing . Flames were visible in the kitchen area after a size up. Fire crews quickly battled the flames and had the fire under control within five minutes of arrival. Once the fire was under control, Wilmington Fire Investigators arrived to the scene and determined the fire started in the kitchen due to unattended cooking. It was ruled accidental. Fire forces evacuation of Orchard Park apartments

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WKBW) - Fire crews battled a blaze at the Green Lake Apartments in Orchard Park on Monday that forced residents out into the cold. Smoke coming from the apartments on North Lake Drive could be seen for miles. The fire chief says the blaze appears to have started in an attached first-floor garage before spreading up through the building and collapsing the roof. The three-story building is a total loss. No one was hurt. Orchard Park Police were able to alert residents to the fire and evacuate those who were home in the nine- unit apartment building . Some pets perished in the blaze. Several fire companies , including East Aurora and Hamburg, were called in to help fight the fire. There was only one hydrant in front of the apartments and crews had to run multiple lines from South Buffalo Street to bring water to the blaze. Man in custody for alleged arson at Southfield apartment building

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) - 11:07 a.m. Police tell 7 Action News that a suspect has been arrested for allegedly intentionally setting an apartment building in Southfield on fire Monday morning . According to police, a 32-year-old Southfield man is in custody for the fire at Regal Towers Apartments off of Franklin Road. Police say he used a cigarette in the mail room to intentionally set the blaze. Several people were treated for smoke inhalation and one woman was transported to the hospital by first responders. 3 alarm fire at apartment building in Sharon Hill, Pa.

SHARON HILL, Pa. (WPVI) -- Firefighters battled a three alarm blaze at an apartment building in Sharon Hill, Delaware County. Crews worked for several hours before getting the blaze under control around 9 p.m. Friday. Fourteen people were displaced and dozens of others were evacuated from nearby buildings. Fire victim Diana Ruzat lived on the third floor of the apartment building on Sharon Avenue, and says she lost everything. "Left to walk my dog and my boyfriend hears a pop pop pop! He's like, there's smoke coming from your apartment! I ran as fast as I could," She said. Crews responded to reports of an explosion at the back of the building around 2:30 p.m. One resident was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. Flames shot from the roof and thick smoke flooded the area. Vera Cameron of Sharon Hill said, "When I came out, the only thing you could see was all this black smoke.
