Photo: Weber County SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Sept. 22, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City Police have announced an arrest in the homicide of Eric Padilla, the 18-year-old man who was shot and killed at a Salt Lake City apartment complex on Sept. 17. The suspect has been identified as  Landon Kavani Johnson , 20. Johnson is charged with one count each of aggravated robbery and murder, both felonies, and a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear on a citation. Johnson was arrested at about 5 p.m. today, according to SLCPD Lt. Robin Heiden. Heiden said she believes he was taken into custody without incident. Police have stated that Johnson was found to be in possession of items taken during the home invasion robbery at the Sky Harbor Apartments near 1820 West and North Temple. Water spilling out of Indian Creek inundated bridges , businesses, apartments and houses. Deputies at the scene of an apartment compelx where a newborn baby was reportedly found in the bushes. HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - A newborn baby girl is receiving medical attention after being found alone and covered in ants at an apartment complex in north Houston. According to the Harris County Sheriff 's Office, deputies responded to The Bridges of Cypress Creek apartment complex on Red Oak Drive early Thursday morning . A man who lives in the complex told deputies around 5 a.m., he heard a baby girl crying and at first thought it was a toy. When the man realized the baby was alive, he took the child home and called police. Deputies say the newborn was less than an hour old.  KHOU 11 spoke to the man who discovered the infant and saved her life. Albert Peterson was headed to work like any other day. “I heard some crying and whining and crying, and I kept walking until I got closer to the noise, and then I looked at the ground and there was a baby down there,” said Peterson. “...

A Rohnert Park man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of prowling around an apartment complex where residents had reported a number of thefts, police officials said. Christian Slayback , 25, matched the description of a long-haired man in a red hat residents said was running around Windsong Apartments on Camino Colegio and yelling at people, Rohnert Park Public Safety Department officials said. Police were called to the complex about 9:30 a.m. A maintenance staffer told officers Slayback and two other men had been “acting erratic” and hidden a bag behind a fence enclosing a building’s utilities, police said in a news statement. Officers found the bag, which contained holiday decorations . In a “rambling statement” to officers, Slayback said the decorations had been stolen from a friend and he hoped to return them to her, according to police.
