Local News LUBBOCK, TX - Lubbock Police said that another gunshot victim came forward on Tuesday related to a shooting incident on Monday afternoon. At about 2:30 Monday afternoon, the Lubbock Police Department received a call about gunshots in the area of 2100 Avenue O.  An officer was nearby and heard another gunshot near 24th Place and Avenue N. The officer found a 35-year-old woman who had been shot in the arm.  Police said she had “moderate injuries.” Police said Abrean Watkins , 22, was arrested on an unrelated charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Police said, “On Tuesday at approximately 1:20 p.m., nearly 24 hours after the original call of shots fired, the Lubbock Police Department received a call that another gunshot victim had just arrived at the hospital.” “The male victim had moderate injuries on his hand,” police said. Presumably it is in front of the Short North Carriage House , a vacation rental that Ezekiel Elliott’s father had rented for his 21st birthday in Columbus, Ohio’s equivalent of Uptown. She stands, expressionless, for a series of police photographs of her bruises — on her arms and wrists. There are several shots of her hands, but those don’t appear to be injured in the photos. In the police report there is a diagram, essentially a pencil drawing of a female figure where injuries can be marked. Ten areas are circled and marked with a “V” for “Visible Bruise, Mark or Injury,” from her neck to her knees. A fist fight between two boys, ages 12 and 14, Monday night turned more violent when the younger one allegedly hit the older boy with a baseball bat, leading to his arrest. Oakland County Sheriff ’s deputies were called to the Oak Forest Apartments in the 100 block of Casemer Road in Orion Township shortly before 10 p.m. after several residents reported hearing the sound of fighting from inside one of the apartments. Deputies say witnesses told them the younger boy provoked the fight in the parking lot and the two exchanged punches. After they separated, the 12-year-old returned with a baseball bat and hit the 14-year-old in the knee. A witness took the bat from the younger boy. Paramedics treated the 14-year-old for injuries and then transported him to a hospital for further medical evaluation. The 12-year-old was lodged at Children’s Village pending an intake hearing. Detectives are investigating the incident.

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A second victim was discovered and two more arrests were made in connection with two shootings that happened in central Lubbock on Monday afternoon. According to officials with the Lubbock Police Department , officers received a call around 2:30 p.m. about gunshots in the area of 2100 Avenue O. A nearby officer heard the gunshots and responded to the call. While he was investigating, he heard another gunshot near 24th Place and Ave. N. The officer responded to that area and found a 35-year-old woman was shot in the arm. She was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. SWAT officers responded to the scene and assisted in clearing a small apartment complex nearby . One of the individuals inside the apartment, 22-year-old Abrean Watkins, was arrested on an unrelated charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Water rescues and evacuations kept police and firefighters busy with hundreds of calls after as much as 9 inches of rain fell starting Monday night . Flooding made many roads impassable, trapping people at homes and businesses along the Blue River and Indian Creek, which set a new record of 28.22 feet overnight and topped its banks after record flooding last month. Water spilling out of Indian Creek inundated bridges , businesses, apartments and houses. For just the second time ever, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood emergency alert for the entire Kansas City area . The first time was last August. Johnson County declared a state of local disaster, and an American Red Cross shelter in south Kansas City took in nearly 20 people by Tuesday afternoon , when flood waters started to recede. Aug. 9 0121 - The night auditor from the Hotel Seward reported AK/LIC JDV548 with its lights on across the street and wanted to make sure that the vehicle owner was not having a problem. Officer found no one in the car. 0131 - RP reported that subject died at Fifth Avenue. Officer responded and notified the Medical Examiner as there was not a comfort one or advanced directive in place. The medical examiner released the body to the family. Aug. 12 1604 - RP found a wallet containing debit cards, from different people, a social security card and a driver’s license near the Chamber of Commerce.
