Suspect in SW Portland killing strangled friend, then stabbed him, records say
Paris McConville MCSO A woman strangled her friend to death, then stabbed him before she turned herself into police Tuesday afternoon , according to court records. Paris James McConville told police she killed Ryan D. Thompson in self-defense during a fight at Thompson's Southwest Portland apartment Monday evening , according to a probable cause affidavit written by Deputy District Attorney Bumjoon Park and filed in Multnomah County Circuit Court on Wednesday. McConville, 34, went to the Portland Police Station shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday. McConville told police she "killed Mr. Thompson and deserved to be punished," the affidavit said. She had no visible injuries. Earlier court records identified McConville as male, but the affidavit identified McConville as a woman.
