(Courtesy: Public Safety News Network ) SOUTH SACRAMENTO — Two units were destroyed and one person was detained after a fire ripped through a South Sacramento apartment building early Sunday morning . Just after 2:30 a.m., fire crews responded to the fire, which was burning at the Stonebrook Apartments on East Parkway. Crews found heavy smoke and fire coming from the second floor of the building, according to the Public Safety News Network . One person was detained by the Sacramento County Sheriff ’s Department. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a stove fire in an apartment kitchen on the first floor. Firefighters on arrival reported smoke showing from the front of the building. Interior firefighters reported a small fire primarily contained to the broiler, but with some damage to kitchen cabinets. Firefighters checked for extension to walls and ventilated the units and hallway by 9:07 p.m.. Initially, no reports of any injuries.
