Roosevelt Park helps freezing family

Image
Jennifer Johnson was freezing cold and so was her 5-month-old baby. It was January, and the heat in her apartment wouldn 't go above 60. When the wind blew outside, her drapes fluttered inside . She called the maintenance department at Lakecrest Park Apartments in Roosevelt Park . The man who answered was rude, then crude, then hung up on her. Desperate and shivering, Johnson called the police. The result? Inspectors were called who issued citations, city leaders changed the ordinance to allow stricter enforcement of building codes and the apartment complex's East Coast owners became "cooperative" with city officials . And what about the apartment's management and maintenance department she dealt with? All fired. It's unusual for officials of any city to move so quickly to step into a tenant-landlord dispute. But with only a few large apartment complexes in the one-square-mile city, inspectors and leaders decided change was needed fast. A lease nightmar...

Is Canadian Apartment Properties REIT a Buy After a Strong Q2?

Canadian Apartment Properties REIT  (TSX:CAR.UN) released its quarterly results earlier this month. I’ll look at how the company did, the strength of its financials, and if you should consider buying the stock. The company owns and operates residential rental properties , including apartments and townhomes, in many large urban centres in various locations across Canada. Although it’s predominantly in Canada, Canadian Apartment Properties has locations in Europe as well, specifically in Ireland and the Netherlands. The stock is a little different than many other REITs in that it focuses on apartments and residential spaces; other trusts rely more on commercial tenants. This stock would allow… Canadian Apartment Properties REIT (TSX:CAR.UN) released its quarterly results earlier this month. Should You Get A Puppy in an Apartment?

Image
Should you get a puppy in an apartment? Yes, if you’re up for the challenge and can be a little flexible! I live on a 2nd floor apartment , and I have a 9-week-old weimaraner puppy. This might mean I’m a little crazy. But it’s really not that bad. It’s actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. We’ve had adult foster dogs that were WAY more challenging than this. So, it mostly depends on the individual puppy and your own flexibility. Some people in apartments definitely should not get a puppy, but you could say the same about people who live in homes with fenced yards. It just depends. Should you get a puppy in an apartment? It depends on the individual puppy owner and the individual puppy (breed, predicted energy & size). Here are some of the common concerns about raising a puppy in an apartment: 1. Potty training is more challenging. 2. Kennel training (CRYING!) can disturb neighbors. 3. Risk of disease from other dogs in the complex when using “community” potty are...

Greenhaven Apartments - Apartments - 6330 Havenside Dr, The Pocket-Greenhaven, Sacramento, CA - Phone Number

I am only writing this review based on the customer service I have received so far from Greenhaven apartments. My boyfriend and myself currently live in Los Angeles and are trying to relocate to the Sacramento area ASAP . It has been very hard for us to apply for apartments and put down deposits in person due to the obvious fact we live 6hours away lol. But Michelle from Greenhaven apartments has made this process so easy for us. Whenever I call the office to provide more information or receive updates I REFUSE to talk to anyone else but Michelle, she has been amazing and very patient with us. We are currently on the waitlist for Greenhaven and I hope and Pray something becomes available soon, because I would love to live in these wonderful apartments whose office provides great service. This place sucks. No soda machine. Rent is way to high, nobody uses the pool, people steal your parking spots, the laundry machine was vandalized, management is poor, landlord promises things and then...

Laura … more » Business Response: Laura, thank you so much for taking a few seconds to give us a 5 star shout out. Harish Vijendran Pros: This is a very good apartment community to live, overall. Very nice maintenance guys , who are very friendly as well. Good neighbors, even though I don't know them, never had any troub … le. Cons: Most apartments lack dual pane windows , so noise is on the higher side due to regular maintenance activities going on in other apartments, so if you are a person who works from home a lot, be ready. Rent increase was $230 for a one bed for 2017-2018 cycle. And there is easily a $100 on top of your rent advertised (monthly) Extra car parking is paid, but there is always someone who parks in your spot, in the internal community website , this is the top complaint. more » Pros: This is a very good apartment community to live, overall. Firefighters, neighbors save 3 children from fire after domestic dispute

By  Julius Whigham II and Bill DiPaolo The Palm Beach Post RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. — Quick action by neighbors and firefighters — and a little luck — saved three infants trapped inside a burning apartment on Friday that police say was set on fire by their father after a domestic dispute with the children’s 19-year-old mother. Using hammers, chairs and whatever they could grab to smash through hurricane windows, neighbors entered a burning second-floor unit at the Stonybrook Apartments. They handed a 3-year-old boy and a 1-year-old boy out the window. children inside . (Photo/ Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office)" />Velmando J. On the Zeke Elliott Suspension: Even a Liar Can Be Beaten and Choked

Image
Tiffany Thompson put herself out there. In a pink bra, black pencil skirt , and black pumps, her hair pulled back in a tight bun, a black choker tied around her neck, she stands in front of a wrought-iron fence on a sidewalk at night. Presumably it is in front of the Short North Carriage House , a vacation rental that Ezekiel Elliott’s father had rented for his 21st birthday in Columbus, Ohio’s equivalent of Uptown. She stands, expressionless, for a series of police photographs of her bruises — on her arms and wrists. There are several shots of her hands, but those don’t appear to be injured in the photos. In the police report there is a diagram, essentially a pencil drawing of a female figure where injuries can be marked. Ten areas are circled and marked with a “V” for “Visible Bruise, Mark or Injury,” from her neck to her knees. Like everyone else, I had been reading snippets about the allegations of domestic violence against the Dallas Cowboys’ star running back in news reports ...
