A Santa Fe County magistrate has issued an arrest warrant for a Santo Domingo Pueblo man after the man’s ex- girlfriend told Santa Fe police that he had choked her and prevented her from leaving a vehicle during an argument. An arrest warrant affidavit by a Santa Fe police officer charges Joseph Reano , 35, with false imprisonment , a fourth-degree felony, and aggravated battery against a household member that does not result in great bodily harm , a misdemeanor. The affidavit says Reano came to his former girlfriend’s Santa Fe apartment Saturday night to visit their 7-year-old son. He asked to speak with the woman outside, and the two got into an argument inside his vehicle, according to the affidavit. When she attempted to leave the vehicle, he grabbed her by the shirt and began to yell obscenities as she tried to escape, the affidavit says, adding that Reano then started to choke the woman.
