CONCORD, NH — Concord Fire and Rescue teams were sent to a multi-family unit on Rumford Street for a report of smoke coming from an apartment this afternoon, according to alerts online. NH Fire Alarm reported that smoke was reportedly seen from an apartment when firefighters arrived to 74 Rumford St., according to the post on Twitter at around 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 15, 2017. Firefighters were seen at the scene and officials from Concord Housing Authority were also speaking to firefighters, according to scanner chatter. Concord Fire Chief Dan Andrus reported that the fire was caused by an oven in one of the apartments. NewsCam 603 caught the firefighters arriving at the scene. CONCORD, NH — This week’s U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Fugitive of the Week is behind bars, according to Deputy Marshal Jeffrey White . Adam Walter Searles , 28, was arrested on Aug. 24, 2017, on an outstanding arrest warrant issued back in May by the Strafford County Superior Court for bail violations stemming from original charges of burglary, credit card fraud and drug offenses. Searles, who has a number of priors, was featured yesterday and since that time, task force members – including members from the Strafford, Rockingham, Hillsborough and Belknap County Sheriff ’s Offices, Federal Protective Service , along with deputy U.S. Marshals – “developed information indicating that Searles was residing with a known associate on Abbey Lane in Dover,” White stated. MONTBELLO, Calif. (FOX 11 / CNS) - The manhunt for an alleged killer came to an end on Friday. Christopher Michael Diaz , who police say is a reputed gang member , was wanted for killing his pregnant wife, Roxanne Acosta, 2 weeks ago. She was 2-months pregnant with a 4th child. Friday afternoon, three officers followed Diaz from an apartment to a Montebello 'Super A' store. Police tried stopping the car, but Diaz ran away. Sheriff Deputies say Diaz ran a block away between two homes on Via Corona. Then they say, he tried scaling a fence and targeted police officers . "The suspect did turn around, point a gun at him, and fire at least one round," said Lt. Derrick Alfred with L.A. County Sheriff's Homicide Unit. Officers shot him, killing Diaz. Affiliates of Toronto-based Republic Funds paid $17 million last month to buy two Little Rock apartment complexes with a total of 482 units. Republic Spanish Rock , a limited partnership, paid $11 million for the 258- unit Spanish Rock Apartments in the Markham Mesa subdivision . Spanish Rock is the combination of several complexes from eight units to 162 units. Another limited partnership, Republic Spanish Jon , paid $6 million for the 224- unit Spanish Jon Apartments at 5001 W. 65th St. Pete Hartnett, senior vice president of Dallas- based Rowan Properties , represented Republic Funds as well as the "large Texas-based seller that owns thousands and thousands of Class C units," he said. In an interview, Hartnett declined to identify the Texas seller. Both properties underwent significant interior and exterior renovations, which were completed before the sale, Rowan Properties said in a news release. Summerville, SC (WCBD) – The Summerville Police Department has a suspect in custody following a shooting Sunday night . According to Lt. Nick Santanna with the Summerville Police department , officers responded to the Gates of Summerville Apartments in reference to a shooting just after 8:30 p.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found a deceased man with a gunshot wound in front of one of the buildings. According to Santanna, the suspect was located on the scene and arrested, he has been Identified as Wayne Jamal Pinckney , 21. Pinckney is currently being held at the Dorchester County Detention Center and will go before a judge Monday morning at 10 a.m. Pinckney is charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. Last year, the former headquarters of Hampton Roads Transit was demolished to make way. But the 2- acre lot remains nothing but a fenced-off patch of dirt. NORFOLK The housing market may be struggling, but apartment construction in Norfolk continues to boom. The City Council is expected to approve a rezoning today that will allow a 180-unit, $20. 7 million upscale apartment development called the Meadowood Apartments to be constructed off North Military Highway . It would be the seventh apartment complex that opened, received city approval or on which construction began in the past year. Moreover, two other apartment complexes have been proposed. Meadowood would be built on 7.7 acres currently zoned for industrial use on International Boulevard adjacent to a Kmart and the Park Crescent Apartments . Rents would top out at $1,450, said Taylor Franklin, vice president of multi family development for S.L. Nusbaum Realty . It would be a gated community, Franklin said. A North Little Rock man fatally shot at a Little Rock apartment complex last month identified his killer in a "dying declaration" to detectives, according to a court affidavit released Thursday . Steven McPherson, 43, reportedly identified Jasper Lamar Singleton in a police photo lineup before he died from his injuries at UAMS Medical Center on July 27. McPherson was shot multiple times in his chest at Big Country Chateau Apartments that night. Authorities searched for Singleton, 19, for weeks before U.S. marshals found and arrested him Wednesday at Rodeway Inn & Suites at 2401 W. 65th St., according to an arrest report. Singleton, who is nicknamed "Fugi," was charged with first-degree murder. He pleaded innocent in the case Thursday morning in Little Rock District Court .
