Spokane Valley - based Central Valley School District has bought for $2.3 million the Broadway Square Apartments complex at 11910 E. Broadway, in Spokane Valley , and plans to demolish it to make room for the envisioned replacement of North Pines Middle School , says Ben Small, district superintendent . North Pines Middle School , which serves about 500 students, is located on 14.5 acres of adjacent land at 607 N. Pines Road. Small says the district bought the 2.4-acre, 50- unit apartment complex with funds from a $ 113 million bond measure , which voters approved in February 2015. The district anticipates including construction funding for the planned middle school relocation project in a future ballot measure that would go before voters in the spring of 2018, he says. Bristol, R.I. —  Bristol Police Chief Josue Canario announces the arrest of three individuals as a result of a narcotics investigation by Bristol Police over the past several months. During the course of the investigation 36-year-old Kenny Savinon of Bristol was identified as the primary target of the investigation. As a result of the investigation Bristol Police were able to secure an arrest warrant for Savinon. Court authorized search warrants for four properties under the control of Savinon were also obtained. On August 24, 2017 while Savinon was entering his business, Get Liquidated at 15 Gooding Ave, Bristol Police officers approached Savinon and took him into custody without incident. BRISTOL, R.I. (WPRI) – A months- long narcotics investigation in Bristol has resulted in charges against three people. Bristol police said that their investigation led them to 36-year-old Kenny Savinon of Bristol. Officers arrested Savinon outside his business, Get Liquidated, at 15 Gooding Avenue. Investigators also executed several search warrants at the business, his apartment at 26 Bay View Avenue , an apartment at 34 Central Street, and an apartment at 145 Franklin Street. Police said that they seized two grams of cocaine, 3 grams of heroin, 1 gram of fentanyl, several jars of marijuana, several mature marijuana plants , and suspected steroids. Police estimated the value of the drugs seized at about $10,000. Savinon faces seven criminal charges including possession with intent to deliver, conspiracy and maintaining a common nuisance. Police also arrested 24-year-old Lindsey Brissette of 145 Franklin Street, who was charged with possession of heroin, cocaine and fentanyl, and 31...

Within 24 hours, Madeiros had gotten a knife of his own, for protection. He has no plans to use it, he said, but, "Of course, I'm nervous." He's not alone. The stabbing incident was the second in the last five months involving homeless men in downtown Burlington .
