But as Hurricane Harvey neared the Coastal Bend early Friday morning , there was only one flight out of the city. A 6:30 a.m. flight on Southwest Airlines was the last flight out of town Friday. People trying to make it out of the city before the storm hit had to say goodbye to loved ones, and some worried about what would remain when they are able to return. Police: Northport man shoots blindly into neighboring apartments, thought someone was 'after him'

25-year-old Mikequen Whitsett was arrested Friday morning after he allegedly fired blindly into two occupied apartments neighboring his own because he thought someone was 'after him.' ( Tuscaloosa County Jail )   A Northport man was arrested early Friday morning after allegedly firing blindly through the walls of his apartment and sending bullets into neighboring residences.  Lt. Kip Hart, the assistant commander of the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit , said investigators were called to the Saddlewood Apartments on Deerfield Lane in Northport around 3 o' clock Friday morning when residents there reported their homes had been shot into.  Hart said officers found two apartments bullets had ripped into, both of which were occupied. The victims said the shots came from an adjacent apartment, so investigators went next door to find the occupant of the residence in question.  Inside was 25-year-old Mikequen Jaquon Whitsett , a woman and three children, Hart said.  W...

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — The Latest on the Spain attacks (all times local): 5:15 a.m. Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has asked people to pray for a young Australian boy who is missing after a vehicle attack on a popular Barcelona promenade that killed 13 people. Turnbull said Saturday that the boy's mother was badly injured and is in a hospital following Friday's attack at the Las Ramblas promenade . Turnbull says the boy's family is searching for him. He did not release the boy's name. Turnbull says: "All of us as parents know the anguish his father is going through, and his whole family is going through, as they rush to seek to find him in Barcelona." Forecasters labeled Harvey a “life-threatening storm” that posed a “grave risk.” Millions of people braced for a prolonged battering that could swamp dozens of counties more than 100 miles inland.
