SPRINGFIELD, Mo -- A man has been arrested after an early morning standoff in Springfield.  Police were sent to the 2800 block of E. University at 1:30am when callers described a man making threats with a weapon following a potential burglary. When police arrived, the man was located inside an apartment building.  "That's when we set up a perimeter and deployed our Special Response Unit ," said Lt. Tony Vienhage. It quickly became known that the man was not alone inside, but also was with children. "We didn't have any information that the children were harmed or unharmed," explained Lt. Vienhage. "Just not knowing that information raises the danger there." "Their safety becomes the number 1 priority at that point, and it changes your tactics." The man eventually surrendered and was arrested. The children were found unharmed. Lt Vienhage says that charges will most likely be filed for burglary, robbery, and unlawful use of a weapon.

PLANO (CBSDFW) – An early morning shooting led to a standoff with police at an apartment complex in Plano. According to Plano police,  it all started when an unidentified man shot another man in the 1300 block of Sherrye Drive near 14th Street around 1:00 a.m. Tuesday. The victim was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg, his current condition is not known. Police were able to track the suspect back to the Woodlands apartment complex near 14th street and Jupiter in east Plano where he refused to come out. The Plano SWAT team responded to negotiate with the suspect. Around 6:30 a.m., police sent in a bomb robot to let the suspect know they were not leaving. He surrendered soon after. An early Sunday morning standoff ended with an Aurora police SWAT team arresting a shotgun-wielding man, who had an outstanding arrest warrant for attempted homicide. Aurora police said the man is Adeeb Mohammed. At around 2 a.m., Aurora police received a report of a man with a gun at the Silverbrook Apartments, at 15453 E. First Ave., police said. A resident who heard a fight in the parking lot told police that he saw a man with a gun when he looked out the window. When officers arrived at the scene, a man told them that the suspect had pointed a shotgun at him and also hit him with the gun. The man told police that the suspect ran into one of the complex’s buildings and took shelter in apartment 302. When officers learned the identity of the suspect, they discovered there was a warrant for his arrest for attempted homicide, police said. When members of the Town of Montgomery police department responded to a domestic call in the early morning hours of May 16, the situation turned into a standoff, with the suspect, Anthony Bostick, refusing to come out of his apartment on Abbey Avenue. After hours of negotiations and suicidal comments by Bostick, officers went inside the home. That's when police say Bostick fired at the officers, hitting police chief Arnold Amthor in the shoulder. Officers returned fire , but Bostick wasn't injured; instead, authorities say he shot himself in the bathroom. After the incident, Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler held a news conference, revealing the body camera footage from when officers went inside the apartment. On Monday, Hoovler announced the grand jury declined to file charges against the officer who fired shots at Bostick. Megan Favignano @MFavignano Columbia Police arrested Christopher Latrell Moore , 35, of Columbia after a standoff Sunday evening in north Columbia . Moore was a suspect in an assault with a gun that happened early Sunday morning in the city. Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Bryana Larimer confirmed Moore 's name late Sunday night in a news release. The release also said Moore was arrested on the following felony charges: Two counts of rape in the first degree; two counts of sodomy in the first degree; armed criminal action ; burglary; failure to register with a bond of $5,000; tampering with physical evidence; unlawful possession of a concealable firearm and misdemeanor domestic assault . Larimer said Moore allegedly broke into a home while armed with a gun at 3:52 a.m. Sunday on the 200 block of Old 63 North in Columbia. A female was injured during that incident. AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – A man wanted for attempted murder surrendered to police early Sunday morning after an hours-long standoff at an apartment building. At approximately 2 a.m. at the Silverbrook Apartments at 15453 East First Avenue, Aurora police responded to a report of a fight and an armed man in a parking lot. When police arrived , a man told them he was struck by another man carrying a shotgun who then ran into an apartment. Police evacuated surrounding apartments and ordered the apartment’s occupants to exit. Four complied, police said, but the suspect did not. At 4:30 a.m., the Aurora police SWAT shot a foam round through the suspect’s window. Three people, including the suspect, exited. He was taken into custody without incident. Police haven’t released the suspect’s name.
