A Fredericton man, who was arrested after he barricaded himself in a downtown apartment building for seven hours on Thursday evening, appeared in court on Friday. The man, who is in his late 30s, was brought into Fredericton Provincial Court  for a breach of an undertaking from June 9. He appeared before Judge Julian Dickson in a grey, hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants. There was no comment on the nature of his charges, but both the Crown and the defence rejected the man's release from custody. A bail hearing was set for Aug. 22 at 1:30 p.m. in Fredericton. Standoff on Aberdeen Street Police used tear gas to get the man out of the building on the 200 block of Aberdeen Street, late Thursday night . About 12 to 15 police officers responded to the standoff, which began at about 6 p.m. Sgt.
