SEGUIN - Two large apartment complexes have opened this year in the city, and management teams at both complexes are being kept busy with inquiries from prospective residents. The Ranch at State Highway 123, a 180-unit complex, opened in March in the 3000 block of North 123 Bypass, and Oak Hollow, a 160-unit complex, began leasing in July at its location on Jim Barnes Drive east of the intersection of South 123 Bypass and Barnes Drive. Oak Hollow's management describes it as "a community of apartment homes." It consists of 80 one-bedroom apartments, 72 two-bedroom units and eight three-bedroom units. Residents have begun moving into the River House, a two- building apartment complex at 1785 N. Water St. consisting of 243 units. Developed by Atlanta- based Atlantic Realty Partners , the project marks the first entry into the city for the firm founded by two brothers originally from Whitefish Bay. The company, which has developed approximately 8,000 rental units across the country, has a handful of other developments in the Milwaukee area , including a cluster of buildings on W. Willow Springs Apartments will be located off of Bixler Avenue, north of US 70 and behind the now-closed Cattleman’s Steak House on Bataan Memorial West . The property is being developed by Dillon Mountain Enterprises , LLC. which is owned by Paul Curry and his son, Jared Curry. The Currys acquired the property in 2006 from a church which had plans to build on the site but opted to purchase a building in town instead. Construction on the 14.12-acre property will require the Currys to pave more than 1,000 feet of Bixler Avenue, one of the city’s oldest platted but undeveloped rights-of-way. AMLI Residential, one of Austin’s — and the nation’s — largest multifamily developers , said it plans to build a $30 million, 279- unit apartment complex near the site of the planned town center at the Mueller community in Northeast Austin. AMLI expects to break ground in the first quarter of 2013, with the first units available in the third or fourth quarter of 2014, said Taylor Bowen, executive vice president of AMLI Residential.
