Megan Favignano @MFavignano Columbia Police arrested Christopher Latrell Moore , 35, of Columbia after a standoff Sunday evening in north Columbia . Moore was a suspect in an assault with a gun that happened early Sunday morning in the city. Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Bryana Larimer confirmed Moore 's name late Sunday night in a news release. The release also said Moore was arrested on the following felony charges: Two counts of rape in the first degree; two counts of sodomy in the first degree; armed criminal action ; burglary; failure to register with a bond of $5,000; tampering with physical evidence; unlawful possession of a concealable firearm and misdemeanor domestic assault . Larimer said Moore allegedly broke into a home while armed with a gun at 3:52 a.m. Sunday on the 200 block of Old 63 North in Columbia. A female was injured during that incident. I didn’t cry while searching for a San Diego apartment , but I came close. Moving to the city on a Sunday night, I had a five-day reservation at a Motel 6 and needed to find an apartment fast . I also had my 6-year-old tabby cat with me and a new job as real estate reporter for the San Diego Union -Tribune to start the next day. I was fairly confident I’d find a place quickly because in the last decade I had managed to get apartments in London, Chicago, San Francisco, New York City, rural New Jersey, Northeast Pennsylvania and, most recently, Monterey. Not only did San Diego turn out to be the most difficult, it made me change nearly everything I thought I wanted. My criteria was a one- bedroom apartment near the beach that allows cats, a rent of no more than $1,200 and was fairly close to work. To say the least, I stayed at the Motel 6 longer than expected. × Teen seriously wounded in drive-by shooting on Indy’s northwest side INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A teen was seriously wounded after being shot multiple times inside of a vehicle late Sunday night at Heather Ridge Apartments on the city’s northwest side. Police responded to the scene of the shooting in the 3300 block of Heather Ridge Drive shortly after 11:30 p.m. Three teens, one 16-year-old and two 18-year-olds, were sitting in a car when someone drove up and shot at them multiple times , according to IMPD. The shooter or shooters then fled the scene. An 18-year-old in sitting in the front passenger seat was shot in the torso and the leg. He was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in serious condition. POINT BREEZE (WTXF) - Police are investigating the deaths of two people inside an apartment in Philadelphia’s Point Breeze neighborhood after they responded to a call from a family member late Sunday night . Officers responded to the 1300 block of Federal Street just before midnight after a family member found the victim’s on the floor of their first-floor apartment. Police say the victims,  50-year-old Candido Gonzalez and 23-year-old Caitlyn Jaje, were found dead in different rooms. Investigators say both victims had been tied up, had bruises on their faces and bodies, and may have been strangled. The home appeared to have been ransacked, but there was no sign of forced entry, according to police. While a cause has not been found, police say, the couple-had been assaulted.   This morning there was deep sorrow. In a pink bra, black pencil skirt , and black pumps, her hair pulled back in a tight bun, a black choker tied around her neck, she stands in front of a wrought-iron fence on a sidewalk at night. Presumably it is in front of the Short North Carriage House , a vacation rental that Ezekiel Elliott’s father had rented for his 21st birthday in Columbus, Ohio’s equivalent of Uptown. She stands, expressionless, for a series of police photographs of her bruises — on her arms and wrists. There are several shots of her hands, but those don’t appear to be injured in the photos. In the police report there is a diagram, essentially a pencil drawing of a female figure where injuries can be marked. Apparently Brazil has very few extended bouts of cold, wet weather – even in their winter, which is, of course, right now – but one of them started just before our arrival. Sao Paolo had just gone 40 or so days without rain, and so many people welcomed it. Fair enough. From our side, we were hoping for better weather to discover Sao Paolo , but in the end we spent more time than expected catching up on work and schoolwork. Our Airbnb was very central – just a block from the famous Paulista Avenue . There are many, many pizzerias and sushi bars in Sao Paolo, probably a function of the fact the largest Italian and Japanese populations outside of their respective countries are in Brazil. At least that’s what I’ve been told. SIERRA VISTA — A man has been arrested for murder after admitting to police he strangled his roommate and hid his body in a suitcase in the bedroom closet. Keith Allen White , 50, was charged with second-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence after police responded to Garden Plaza Apartments at 100 E. Golf Links Rd. on Monday night. Sierra Vista Police received a call at 9:13 p.m. Monday from a resident of the apartment, who reported that White had admitted to killing his roommate, Brian Cook, who is also a relative of the caller. Officers responded to the scene and spoke with the caller before making their way to White’s apartment on the north side of the complex. When they arrived, “he’s got the windows down and a fan blowing the odor of human decomposition out of the apartment,” said Sierra Vista Sgt .
