Smith stated that she was cut in the back of the head and held down by her shirt. A day earlier Orlando police responded around 3 p.m. to Willow Bend Apartments after someone reported seeing a possible placenta in the parking lot. Homicide and crime- scene investigators determined "that a full term baby had been born and discarded," police said. Officers found the mother, 30-year-old Susan Richardson, on Monday but no baby. An apartment was up in flames with three children trapped inside . “We got there we noticed a large column of smoke and a heavy wall of fire," Battalion Chief Ken Brack recalled . Thanks to neighbors, two kids got out. But it was up to the firefighters to save a newborn baby. HOUSTON - The mother of a newborn girl who was found abandoned and covered in ants last week has been charged in connection with the case, authorities said Monday. Sidney Ann Woytasczyk , 21, has been charged with the second-degree felony of abandoning a child, causing serious bodily injury. Woytasczyk is facing two-20 years in prison.
