Willow Springs Apartments will be located off of Bixler Avenue, north of US 70 and behind the now-closed Cattleman’s Steak House on Bataan Memorial West . San Francisco Supervisor Aaron Peskin has asked the city attorney to explore legislation to impose a vacancy tax on large property owners who leave residential and commercial buildings empty . During a supervisors meeting this month, Peskin said he continues to receive complaints about the impact of “ghost buildings” on neighborhoods. The problem is, nobody really knows how many vacant homes there are in the city and whether a vacancy tax would be legal or effective in freeing up much-needed housing. In an interview, Peskin cited a 28- unit apartment building at 1656 Powell St. that was vacated after a fire damaged some units in December 2013. It remains empty. The three-story building is in a prime North Beach location across from Washington Square Park . I am only writing this review based on the customer service I have received so far from Greenhaven apartments. My boyfriend and myself currently live in Los Angeles and are trying to relocate to the Sacramento area ASAP . It has been very hard for us to apply for apartments and put down deposits in person due to the obvious fact we live 6hours away lol. But Michelle from Greenhaven apartments has made this process so easy for us. Whenever I call the office to provide more information or receive updates I REFUSE to talk to anyone else but Michelle, she has been amazing and very patient with us. We are currently on the waitlist for Greenhaven and I hope and Pray something becomes available soon, because I would love to live in these wonderful apartments whose office provides great service. The City Council is expected to approve a rezoning today that will allow a 180-unit, $20. 7 million upscale apartment development called the Meadowood Apartments to be constructed off North Military Highway .
