A man was shot while driving on Kecoughtan Road in Hampton Tuesday night , police said. Officers and medics were dispatched to the Monterey Apartments in the 600 block of Lasalle Avenue about 8 p.m. after the victim drove himself there before calling for help, police spokeswoman Cpl . Ashley Jenrette said in a news release. The 31-year-old Hampton man told police he was driving in the 2300 block of Kecoughtan Road when an unknown suspect began firing toward the vehicle. He was struck once during the incident, Jenrette said. He was taken to the hospital with an injury that is not believed to be life-threatening, she said.  Police do not have suspect information to release, and the motive is not known, Jenrette said. SAN DIEGO -- A SWAT standoff that began as a report of a woman firing gunshots at an apartment complex has concluded peacefully with the suspect in custody Thursday afternoon .  Police say woman who shot at her neighbor and caused a 7-hour standoff in Clairemont is 35-year-old Brittney Lefler . Update at 4pm. @10News — Bree Steffen (@10NewsBree) December 29, 2016 According to police, the situation began around 5:00 a.m. after a dispute between neighbors at the Barclay Square Apartments turned dangerous .  A woman later identified as 35-year-old Brittney Lefler  opened fire, a neighbor said. No injuries were reported.  Both SWAT and  K9  were called to the scene. The suspect then barricaded herself in her apartment and the complex was subsequently evacuated.  By midday, officers had shot out a window, severing window blinds in the suspect's apartment.
