Alleged Prowler At Rohnert Park Apartment Complex Arrested With Bag Of Stolen Items: Cops

ROHNERT PARK, CA -- Rohnert Park public safety officers arrested a man on suspicion of prowling at an apartment complex Wednesday morning. A maintenance worker said a man with long hair who was wearing a red hat and two other males were acting erratically around 9:30 a.m. The worker said the men hid a bag next to one of the apartment buildings behind a fence that enclosed utilities. Officers located the bag
containing holiday decorations, which they believe were stolen.

Officers contacted Christian Slayback, 25, of Rohnert Park, in the Windsong apartment complex at 8201 Camino Colegio. Slayback was wearing a red hat and said he was helping a friend find property that was stolen from her, according to officials from the Department of Public Safety.

Slayback said he did not live in the complex, and witnesses who talked to him said he could not explain why he was there. Officers said there have been other daytime thefts and burglaries in the area, and they believed
Slayback was at the complex to commit thefts.

Slayback was arrested on suspicion of prowling and he denied he stole the bag of decorations. Slayback had a black computer bag containing a Nintendo GameCube and wires when he was arrested, public safety officials
said.

Officers believe other thefts and burglaries occurred at the complex Wednesday morning. Anyone living in the Windsong or nearby Emerald Pointe apartment complexes who may have been theft victims Tuesday night or
Wednesday should call the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety at 707-588-3564.
