HILLSBORO, OR — Two Portland teens were arrested over the past 24 hours on suspicion of attempted murder in Hillsboro last week, according to Hillsboro police spokesman Lt . Henry Reimann. Cristin Octavio Magana -Ponce, 19, was arrested early Friday at his Portland residence with help from the Portland Metro Gang and Crisis Negotiation teams and Portland Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT). He was lodged at the Washington County Jail on charges of conspiracy to commit two murders. His 17-year-old associate, whose name will not be formally released until he's officially charged with the Measure 11 crime, was arrested Thursday night in Portland. He has been returned to the Cumberland County Jail . ---------- Advertisement An inmate at the Cumberland County Jail walked away from his work release job in Portland on Tuesday, officials said. Larry Goodwin was working at his job at 158 Fore Street when he walked away around 9:30 a.m., according to the Cumberland County Sheriff 's Office. Goodwin was serving a 9-month sentence for cocaine possession, OUI and operating a vehicle after suspension. He was due to be released in February 2018. Goodwin, who is originally from Seattle, Washington, is described as a white male, 5-feet 9-inches, 260 pounds with hazel eyes, brown hair and a short beard. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Cumberland County Sheriff 's Office at 207-744-1444, ext. 2105.

PORTLAND, Maine — Police have recaptured an inmate who escaped while on work release in downtown Portland Tuesday . Law enforcement officers apprehended Larry Goodwin around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday after he had walked off from a job near the Portland waterfront that morning, according to statements from the Cumberland County Sheriff ’s Office. Goodwin, 41, will likely be charged with escape, said Major John Costello of the sheriff’s office. Earlier Tuesday the Sheriff’s Office had asked for public assistance in locating Goodwin , who they say was eventually found and detained at an apartment complex in Westbrook with assistance from that city’s police. Goodwin, a native of Seattle, Washington, was returned to the Cumberland County Jail where he is serving a nine-month sentence for cocaine possession, drunk driving and operating a vehicle after having his license suspended, the sheriff’s office said.
