SPRINGFIELD -- The complex, multi- defendant case involving  the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Kenneth Lopez was back in court Wednesday , with four defense lawyers arguing police should not have been granted a warrant to search an apartment where the accused shooter was arrested. While the murder warrant that led to the arrest of Lee Rios isn't in dispute, the attorneys have taken issue with the broader search warrant , which led to the arrest of three other people on gun charges. But a prosecutor in the case told Hampden Superior Court Judge Constance M. Sweeney Wednesday the search warrant was justified because the 196 Nursery St. apartment was the first place Lee Rios went after the slaying -- making it he most likely location for investigators to find forensic evidence .  Lee Rios, 24, is charged with murder in the killing of Lopez, whose body was found around noon on March 25, 2015, in the yard of a house at Dwight and Calhoun streets in the city's North End. A judge ruled Thursday that web hosting company DreamHost must turn over data from an Inauguration Day protest website to federal prosecutors looking to find evidence against people charged with rioting during the event. D.C. Superior Court Chief Judge Robert Morin said there would be safeguards in place to address First Amendment concerns raised by the company, which said it was “problematic” to turn over such sensitive information. As a result of the ruling, investigators will be able to review emails related to the website DisruptJ20 .org and identify those who sent and received communications through the domain. But the judge, who ruled from the bench, ordered the government to abide by strict rules to minimize the collection of information about individuals who communicated through the website but committed no crime. “I am going to be supervising their search,” Judge Morin told the lawyers. Megan Favignano @MFavignano Columbia Police arrested Christopher Latrell Moore , 35, of Columbia after a standoff Sunday evening in north Columbia . Moore was a suspect in an assault with a gun that happened early Sunday morning in the city. Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Bryana Larimer confirmed Moore 's name late Sunday night in a news release. The release also said Moore was arrested on the following felony charges: Two counts of rape in the first degree; two counts of sodomy in the first degree; armed criminal action ; burglary; failure to register with a bond of $5,000; tampering with physical evidence; unlawful possession of a concealable firearm and misdemeanor domestic assault . Larimer said Moore allegedly broke into a home while armed with a gun at 3:52 a.m. Sunday on the 200 block of Old 63 North in Columbia. A female was injured during that incident. A D.C. Superior Court judge on Thursday ruled in favor of the Department of Justice's ability to exercise a search warrant for data related to an anti-Trump website the DOJ believes is connected to plans for violent Inauguration Day riots . The Justice Department had originally sought a slew of records related to the website Disruptj20 .com from its website hosting company , DreamHost, including HTTP visitor logs that would reveal IP addresses for all of the website's visitors. But DreamHost objected to the Justice Department's request and said it could reveal 1.3 million visitors' identities. The DOJ earlier this week said that it was revising its warrant to include a date range on material it requested, to exclude all visitor logs and the website's draft blog posts that were never published. Bristol, R.I. —  Bristol Police Chief Josue Canario announces the arrest of three individuals as a result of a narcotics investigation by Bristol Police over the past several months. During the course of the investigation 36-year-old Kenny Savinon of Bristol was identified as the primary target of the investigation. As a result of the investigation Bristol Police were able to secure an arrest warrant for Savinon. Court authorized search warrants for four properties under the control of Savinon were also obtained. On August 24, 2017 while Savinon was entering his business, Get Liquidated at 15 Gooding Ave, Bristol Police officers approached Savinon and took him into custody without incident. WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. —A man is facing multiple drug charges following a traffic stop near campus during the early morning hours of Wednesday (Aug. 23). Slater M. Burge, 22, a senior from Indianapolis in the Krannert School of Management, was pulled over near the intersection of Stadium and Northwestern avenues for an alleged traffic violation shortly after midnight. Purdue police say Burge gave consent to search his vehicle, and they found pills, marijuana and a significant amount of cash. The police then obtained a search warrant for his Hilltop Apartment residence , where they say more pills, marijuana, paraphernalia and a large amount of cash were found. Burge was preliminarily charged with operating while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, dealing marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, possession of a Schedule I, II, III or IV controlled substance , and dealing of a Schedule III controlled substance . CONCORD, NH — This week’s U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Fugitive of the Week is behind bars, according to Deputy Marshal Jeffrey White . Adam Walter Searles , 28, was arrested on Aug. 24, 2017, on an outstanding arrest warrant issued back in May by the Strafford County Superior Court for bail violations stemming from original charges of burglary, credit card fraud and drug offenses. Searles, who has a number of priors, was featured yesterday and since that time, task force members – including members from the Strafford, Rockingham, Hillsborough and Belknap County Sheriff ’s Offices, Federal Protective Service , along with deputy U.S. Marshals – “developed information indicating that Searles was residing with a known associate on Abbey Lane in Dover,” White stated. FARGO, ND ( Valley News Live ) Fargo Police have arrested two people they believe are connected to the disappearance of Savanna Greywind. In a statement, Fargo Police say " William Henry Hoehn and Brooke Lynn Crews were both arrested and charged with class A Felony Conspiracy to Commit Kidnapping." Around 2PM Thursday afternoon , Fargo Police received a tip leading investigators to Apartment #5 at 2825 9th St. N., where Brooke Lynn Crews and William Henry Hoehn resided . The two had previously been interviewed by investigators, and three searches of their apartment did not turn up anything of suspicion. It was the apartment Savanna was last seen at. Investigators executing the search warrant Thursday afternoon discovered an infant in the apartment with Crews and Hoehn. TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The Sierra Vista Police Department safely apprehended an armed woman who barricaded herself in her apartment for more than six hours on Wednesday.  Officers responded to Vista Village Apartments  just after three o'clock yesterday for reports of a woman waving a handgun and attempting to break a window outside her neighbor's apartment.  When officers arrived, 63-year-old Gayle Farris had returned to her apartment. Farris would not cooperate with the officers and then barricaded herself in the apartment.  Neighboring apartments were evacuated and SVPD Tactical Unit were called to the scene. Seventh Street from Charles Dr. to Clark Dr. were closed.  Negotiations between Farris and the tactical unit were unsuccessful and less-lethal chemicals were deployed into the apartment from the backyard, Farris fired her handgun twice toward officers.  After hours without communication from Farris, the Cochise County Sheriff 's Office SWAT team was called to assist....

SIERRA VISTA, AZ (Tucson News Now) - In an incident on Wednesday, May 31 the Sierra Vista Police Department was able to safely arrest a woman, who had barricaded herself in her apartment and was armed with a handgun.  According to a news release from the SVPD, Gayle Farris, a 63-year-old resident of Sierra Vista turned herself over to police after a 6-hour stand off that began at 3:15 p.m.   Officers responded to the Vista Village Apartments at 1125 N. Seventh Street for the report of a woman brandishing a handgun and attempting to break the window of a neighboring apartment.  By the time officers arrived Farris had gone into her apartment.
