Police investigate two separate shootings that happened within minutes

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Police are investigating two different overnight shooting incidents that happened right around the same time. Police say a 19-year-old woman was found with multiple gunshot wounds on the front steps of her north side apartment around 11:30 p.m. Monday. Police believe the shooting happened in the parking lot area at the Cambridge square apartments in the 7200 block of Camwood Court. When police found the woman, they say she was awake but was not cooperating with investigators.
 She was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in critical but stable condition. 
There’s no suspect information at this time. The other shooting incident also happened around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, but police say it was on the near northwest side by North California and Eugene Streets. Police say an officer was patrolling in the area and actually witnessed as man came out from between two homes and started shooting at two cars. Police investigate shooting involving teen couple in Midwest City

MIDWEST CITY - Midwest City police said a shooting happened around 11:23 a.m. at the Meadowood Village apartment complex . Police said a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old were fighting in the parking lot but it escalated when the 16-year-old picked up a gun and shot the 18-year-old. “We received a call of a shooting at 6447 East Reno at the Meadowood apartments . When we arrived, we found a 16-year-old male and an 18-year-old female, who was the victim," said Chief Brandon Clabes . Midwest City police are now going door-to-door and combing through the neighborhood to try to determine why the teenager allegedly shot his girlfriend. “Apparently, the 16-year-old male was dating the female,” Clabes said. However, Thursday, the relationship took the violent turn. “They got into a domestic this morning and, as a result, the 16-year-old male shot the 18-year-old female and struck her in the buttocks area,” Clabes said. Tuscaloosa PD: Man arrested in Tuscaloosa shooting investigation

(Source: Terri Brewer/WBRC) TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - A man is being treated for life-threatening injuries in Tuscaloosa after a shooting that also left several apartments and cars damaged. Police arrested 25-year-old Jerry Lee Edwards , Jr. He faces charges of first-degree theft, and certain persons forbidden to possess pistol. Authorities are holding him in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on $45,000 bond. Investigators say they recovered more than 50 shell casings in a shooting at Brookhaven Apartments in the 1300 block of James I. Harrison Parkway that happened Wednesday night around 9 p.m. The victim, an unidentified 26-year-old man, was dropped off at DCH Hospital in a private vehicle, according to a news release from the Tuscaloosa County Homicide Unit . The shooting also damaged five unoccupied vehicles, five occupied apartments and one unoccupied unit . Officials say an officer was already in the area and heard the shots. As they were investigating, officers located an injured female in the area of 2400 Avenue N. She was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries. SWAT officers were called to assist. Everyone was asked to exit a nearby apartment, and officers searched and cleared the building. Police investigate shooting in Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Police are investigating a shooting in the parking lot of a Syracuse apartment complex near East Brighton Avenue . The shooting was reported at 2:07 p.m. on Ivy Ridge Road , an Onondaga County 911 dispatcher said. According to police scanner reports , the victim was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds . A police officer at the scene said the male victim was conscious and breathing. More details were not immediately available. The shooting took place in a parking lot at Ivy Ridge Apartments . Part of the parking lot between apartment buildings 402 and 404 Ivy Ridge Road remained blocked off by police tape about an hour after the shooting. A blood-splattered towel and pile of clothing rested on the pavement near a discarded medical glove . Man shot, killed in Zionsville

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. -- An Indianapolis man was shot and killed Friday morning at an apartment complex in Zionsville, Indiana.  The shooting happened around 5:45 a.m., in the Quail Run Apartments . Within a minute of the call, Zionsville officers arrived at the scene and found the victim unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.  Zionsville Police Chief Robert Knox identified the victim as Terrell Scott, 30, of Indianapolis.  Knox said police brought a K-9 to the scene to try and pick up on any tracks, but the search was unsuccessful.  "A multi-agency effort is currently being exhausted. UPDATE: Jackson Police have confirmed that a shooting yesterday at the Abbey Villas Apartments was a domestic dispute between a female and her boyfriend. When police arrived they found the 34-year-old woman had been shot once in the head. Her condition remains critical today at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital . The 29-year-old boyfriend was arrested about one hour later at a home on the 300 block of W. Biddle Street. He is being held in the Jackson County Jail . SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A man was found with several gunshot wounds in the parking lot of a city apartment complex Wednesday afternoon . At 2:08 p.m. officers, firefighters and paramedics responded to Ivy Ridge Road for a report of shooting there, Syracuse police said. When officers got there they found a 33-year-old man in the parking lot of Ivy Ridge Apartments . Police said the man, who they did not identify, had gunshot wounds to his leg and the side of his face. The man was taken to Upstate University Hospital by Rural Metro ambulance . Dallas police said their investigation of two shootings within blocks of each other early Monday morning revealed the murders were related and tied to drug activity. Officers were still looking for the suspects Monday night . "We are continuing to interview several witnesses. We believe that multiple suspects are involved," Dallas Police Maj . Rob Sherwin said. Police release identity of man killed in Zionsville shooting; witnesses report seeing two white cars

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. -- Police released the identity of a man killed in a deadly shooting in Zionsville. Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Quail Run Court  at Quail Run Apartments Friday morning around 5:45 a.m. after residents heard shots fired in the area. Chief Robert Knox said officers were on the scene within a minute. Police found the victim, later identified as 30-year-old Terrell Scott, of Indianapolis, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds . Two vehicles were seen leaving the area during the time of the shooting. One was a white Chevrolet Impala and the other was a white Honda Accord . In the meantime the search for the killer and police can’t say if the shooting was a random act of violence or not. “It’s way too early to speculate on something like that,” said Zionsville police chief Robert Knox . Man injured in Citrus Heights shooting

CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. (KCRA) — A man was shot and wounded Friday night at a Citrus Heights apartment complex . Citrus Heights police said the man, who is in his early 20s, was shot in his upper body. He was taken to the hospital, where he underwent surgery. Police said he is expected to survive. Victim identified in Monday shooting on Newtown Arch

VIRGINIA BEACH , Va. – A judge found there was enough evidence to send a Virginia Beach murder case to trial. Richard Jerome Gregory Jr charged with 2nd Degree Murder , Attempted Robbery and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony Richard Gregory Jr. is charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm for the May 8 death of Erica Alford. During Thursday’s preliminary hearing, the prosecution presented a witness to the alleged shooting . A friend of the victim went before the judge detailing what she said happened that Monday afternoon . According to the witness, she and 29-year-old Alford were riding when Alford stopped at a nearby store to pick up Gregory. They drove to the Mayfair Apartments on Newtown Arch. Once there, she told the judge Gregory got out the car and went inside an apartment. Neighbor Accidentally Discharges Gun, Bullet Hits Woman in Apartment Below

A woman visiting her daughter’s apartment in Oceanside Tuesday night was shot by a neighbor who – while cleaning his gun – accidentally discharged a round into the floor that separates the units, striking the victim as she sat on the couch watching television . The Oceanside Police Department (OPD) said the accidental shooting happened just before 11 p.m. at a small residential building on Bush Street, less than a half-mile from Interstate 5, in San Diego's North County. Investigators said the neighbor, whose name was not released, had sat down to clean his 9mm Glock handgun when he accidentally discharged a chambered round into the floor of his apartment. In the unit directly below was a woman from Huntington Beach, California, who was in town house sitting for her daughter. Officers from Birmingham's East Precinct and homicide detectives were on the scene early Thursday morning in the 6200 block of Crest Green Drive . Man shot and killed in Sun Prairie; person of interest identified, police say | Crime

A 33-year-old man was shot and killed early Sunday morning in what was believed to be a targeted slaying, the Sun Prairie Police Department said. Around 1:30 a.m., officers headed to the 400 block of South Bird Street for a report of a man being shot in an apartment complex parking lot , according to police. Sun Prairie police spokesman Jon Lothe said a “specific person of interest” in the homicide has been identified. It is the first homicide in the city since 2015. Lothe said several people who were at the scene when the shooting happened have been identified and were being interviewed by police with the help of the Dane County Sheriff ’s Office. He said investigators have received copies of the apartment building’s security camera footage and would be reviewing them. PD: Man wanted after killing neighbor in Phoenix

PHOENIX - Phoenix police have set up a command center at an apartment complex after a deadly shooting. The shooting happened around 10:00 p.m. on Wedneday near 7th Street and Greenway Road at the Vaseo apartment complex . According to Phoenix police, two neighbors were involved in a verbal argument that leads to one of the men shooting the other. The man shot died on the scene. The suspect is still on the loose. People who live in the apartment complex said the argument started outside of an apartment but spread into an open area of the complex. A large presence of detectives and uniformed officers have gathered inside the apartment complex.

Minor involved in shooting at Sherwood apartments

A minor was involved in a shooting at a Sherwood apartment complex , but authorities won't say whether anyone was injured or if any arrests have been made. The Sherwood Police Department said in a statement that police are investigating a shooting that occurred about 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Parkcrest Apartment Complex at 100 Manson Road. The statement said only that a minor was "involved" and that the case was not a homicide. Asked whether the minor involved was shot, the shooter or both, Lt.
