Police investigate shooting in Syracuse
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Police are investigating a shooting in the parking lot of a Syracuse apartment complex near East Brighton Avenue.
The shooting was reported at 2:07 p.m. on Ivy Ridge Road, an Onondaga County 911 dispatcher said. According to police scanner reports, the victim was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
A police officer at the scene said the male victim was conscious and breathing. More details were not immediately available.
The shooting took place in a parking lot at Ivy Ridge Apartments.
Part of the parking lot between apartment buildings 402 and 404 Ivy Ridge Road remained blocked off by police tape about an hour after the shooting. A blood-splattered towel and pile of clothing rested on the pavement near a discarded medical glove.
The Syracuse Police Department, the Syracuse Fire Department and Rural/Metro Ambulance responded, dispatch logs show.
