Photo via Townline Designs for a tower that could potentially become Vancouver Island’s tallest building have been submitted to the City of Victoria. In a series of documents, Townline developers outlined plans for a 29- storey condo tower on the 700-block of Herald Street. Named the Hudson Place One, the project would entail mixed-use condominium units, rental apartments , and a ground- floor retail community . The potential development area was formerly occupied by a Hudson’s Bay Department Store . Increased Height A Result of Residential Redistribution The building already received zoning approval to a maximum height of 72 metres (approximately 24-storeys), a height that would still make it the tallest building in Victoria, the developer decided to redistribute some of the approved residential density .
