Toilet-paper vandalism posted on social media: Mayfield Village Police Blotter
MAYFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio
Criminal mischief, Hickory Hill Drive:
A resident reported at 11:36 p.m. Aug. 8 a classmate of one of his children had toilet-papered his home and posted a video of it on social media. The suspect was not at the home when officers arrived. The incident is under investigation.
Community relations, SOM Center Road:
Officers responded to the area near Pizzazz Pizza around 9:30 p.m. Aug. 9 for a report of a woman who seemed upset and disturbed. She was found to have a warrant with Lakewood police and was turned over to officers from that city.
Suspicious vehicle, Wilson Mills Road:
A woman said Aug. 11 there was a suspicious vehicle in front of the city's community center and she was afraid to walk out to her vehicle. Officers checked on the vehicle and learned the driver and passenger were making dance videos on their cell phones. They left the area without incident.
Theft, Beta Drive:
A guest at the Hilton Garden Inn reported Aug. 13 the theft of a cell phone, valued at $700. The incident is under investigation.
Suspicious activity, Butternut Drive:
A resident reported Aug. 13 her daughter and her daughter's friend stole $500,000 from her home while she was out getting her hair done. Officers spoke with the daughter, who was the guardian of her mother, and she was able to confirm no theft had been committed.
Impaired driving, Wilson Mills Road:
A Chester man, 41, was arrested for OVI around 11:30 p.m. Aug. 13 after his vehicle was stopped for speeding.
Fraud, SOM Center Road:
A resident reported Aug. 14 there were four unauthorized transactions made to her credit card. The total value of the fraud was $100 and the bank is investigating.
Special attention, Aintree Park Drive:
A resident said Aug. 14 someone had written "hail Hitler" and drew a swastika in the dust on his vehicle, which was parked in an underground parking garage. He said the vehicle had been parked there for several weeks and a notice came from the apartment complex that all vehicles had to be removed by a specific date. He said he cleaned the vehicle before calling police but wanted to document the incident since he did not know if the incident was directed toward him because he is Jewish.
