Sierra Vista Apartments now open for occupancy | Sturgis

The Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony welcoming Dane Goetz and Cody Byrum, owners of the Sierra Vista Apartment complex constructed on Ball Park road.

"It goes back two years when a local banker that is involved in economic development called and asked if we would be interested in building housing in Sturgis" said Goetz. After a tour of Sturgis and viewing different options Goetz said "with the help of the City and Economic Development Corporation, we decided to come to Sturgis and build on Ball Park Road,"

The current site has three acres and would accommodate a total of 48 units. The overall master plan is to build one complex per year and with the current occupancy it would appear plans would move forward with another 16 units in 2016.

The current building has 16 units nearly complete and 10 are rented. Families began moving in on Friday, Oct. 30. The complex consists of 11 units that have two bedrooms, two apartments have three bedrooms and three apartments have four bedrooms and two baths. Rents range from $780 - $1,250.
