Apartment building in Sun Prairie evacuated during gun standoff

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis.—Police evacuated an apartment building in Sun Prairie early Monday because of an intoxicated man with a shotgun.

Police responded to a call about a man threatening to harm himself about 1 a.m. at Hamilton Place Apartments. They sent displaced residents to unoccupied apartments in another building.

The 20-year-old man was arrested about three hours later and taken to Tellurian Detoxification Center. No charges have been filed against him yet.

Residents returned to their apartments about 4:30 a.m.
