Bagatelle restaurant group set to make UK debut in Mayfair

The company, which was founded in New York in 2008 by hospitality entrepreneurs Aymeric Celemente and Remi Laba, is believed to have lined up the Quattro Passi site in Mayfair’s Dover Street for its London debut.

According to its website, Quattro Passi is currently closed for redevelopment until further notice.

The group currently runs 10 restaurants across the globe, including sites in Miami Beach, Los Angeles, St. Tropez and Sao Paulo.

The company, which aims to take the authentic French dining experience worldwide, has the motto, ‘joie de vivre’ and describes itself a group of neighbourhood bistrots. “Stepping into Bagatelle is like stepping back in history into a Provençal café, or an old Parisian apartment,” is how it describes itself in its media kit.

Its restaurants in the US are known for being celebrity hangouts with the company stating that its guest profile is ‘well-travelled jet setters, sophisticated partiers and trend settters’ aged 25-50 years old who are affluent and with a lot of disposable income.

The move marks yet another international restaurant group choosing Mayfair to launch. The group behind Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts will soon open Dabbawala on the former Hibiscus site on Maddox Street and Old World Hospitality will replace its Chor Bizarre restaurant on Albemarle Street with Indian Accent this autumn.

“Blacklist” star Megan Boone lists West Village apartment for $2.4M

There’s a big demand for more affordable housing in Charlotte, where rents and home prices have shot up much faster than wages over the past few years. Many of the apartments being built now target more affluent renters, waitlists for housing vouchers are long and starter homes are snapped up almost immediately.
