Detectives investigate shooting leaving man wounded in Sunrise

SUNRISE, Fla. - Sunrise detectives were investigating a Friday night shooting that left one man wounded. 

Police officers responded to a two-story apartment building at 2119 NW 64 Ave., near the First Baptist Church. 

Fire Rescue found a man with a gunshot wound on the ground and took him to Broward General Hospital.

Detectives were asking anyone with information to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.

Charlotte affordable housing forum raises possible solutions

There’s a big demand for more affordable housing in Charlotte, where rents and home prices have shot up much faster than wages over the past few years. Many of the apartments being built now target more affluent renters, waitlists for housing vouchers are long and starter homes are snapped up almost immediately.
