Spring Hill standoff ends with apparent suicide - Story

SPRING HILL (FOX 13) - A standoff with an armed person at a Hernando County apartment complex has ended with that person dead.

Few details about the subject are available, but deputies earlier confirmed that one individual was barricaded inside an apartment on Cape Cod Loop in the Nantucket Cover Apartments in Spring Hill.  Deputies believed the subject was armed, so they evacuated nearby units.

The SWAT team and negotiators joined deputies at the scene.

Around 3:30, deputies said they had been unable to establish dialog with the subject in the apartment.  When the SWAT team went in, they found the person dead of what appeared to be "self-inflicted injuries."

“Blacklist” star Megan Boone lists West Village apartment for $2.4M

Charlotte affordable housing forum raises possible solutions

There’s a big demand for more affordable housing in Charlotte, where rents and home prices have shot up much faster than wages over the past few years. Many of the apartments being built now target more affluent renters, waitlists for housing vouchers are long and starter homes are snapped up almost immediately.
