The remains of an old school in Richmond Heights stand alone | Education
A portal to nowhere is all that remains on August 23, 2017, near the end of the demolition process of the old West Richmond Elementary School in Richmond Heights. The middle school closed in 2001 and remained vacant until it was razed. In 1992, the school was renamed A.B. Green Middle School when it converted from an elementary school. In 2016, the city approved a $34 million, mixed-use, luxury apartment project to be built at Dale Avenue and Boland Place. The Residences at Boland Place plans include 3,500 square feet of retail space on the ground level of the site that also housed a church on the corner. The start date of the construction has not yet been determined. Photo by Hillary Levin, hlevin@post-dispatch.com
