Ground breaks on Eagle Crossing apartments at Coffee Creek Center

Ground broke late last month on a new luxury apartment neighborhood at Coffee Creek Center: Eagle Crossing, under development by In Good Company (IGC).

Eagle Creek’s 170 units will be located on 18 acres immediately south of Rail Road, east of Kelle Drive, north of Sidewalk Road, and west of land owned by the Coffee Creek Watershed Preserve.

The development will consist of 23 buildings, designed in the Prairie Style, each luxury unit in which will include an attached garage, full-size washer and dryer, and access-controlled entryways.

The $30-million Eagle Crossing neighborhood will also include clubhouse, swimming pool, and children's play area.

General Contractor: CORE Construction of Schererville. Project engineer: DVG Team Inc. of Crown Point. Architect: Rohn Associates Architects of Cedar Lake. Estimated buildout: two years.

IGC’s decision to build in Chesterton is a personal one, according to a statement released on Friday: it’s the hometown of IGC principals Jon Hicks and Michael Sakich. “We are very proud of bringing this flagship, our most luxurious product to our hometown,” Sakich said. “Our customers will be our friends, family, and neighbors and we want to ensure a superior brand of luxury living.”

“The Town of Chesterton has been incredibly supportive of this project and that is important to us,” Hicks added. “The core value of our company is to make a quality of life difference in each community we serve.”

“In Good Company fills a critical niche of quality high-end living for the Town of Chesterton,” Town Manager Bernie Doyle noted. “They complement the dynamic growth we are experiencing.”
