Woman found shot to death in West Palm Beach after altercation

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — 

A homicide investigation is underway after police found a woman shot to death near an apartment in West Palm Beach.

Police said 33-year-old Marsheka Velasquez had an altercation with a 24-year-old man. Soon after, police found her dead in the Presidential Golfview Condo complex.

Investigators said Velasquez and the man she got into a fight with were armed with handguns.

Charlotte affordable housing forum raises possible solutions

There’s a big demand for more affordable housing in Charlotte, where rents and home prices have shot up much faster than wages over the past few years. Many of the apartments being built now target more affluent renters, waitlists for housing vouchers are long and starter homes are snapped up almost immediately.
