Birmingham Teen Charged with Robbery

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A man doing door-to-door sales Friday afternoon was held up at gunpoint while sitting in his car, but luckily for the 23-year-old salesman, the suspect who took his phone, tablet and car keys did not know how to operate a car with a manual transmission. The suspect, 17-year-old Quinderris Brown, fled on foot when he could not operate the victim's car and was found by deputies at an apartment on Tamera Trail where he was taken into custody. He was questioned by detectives and admitted his role in the robbery.

The incident occurred close to 7th Street NE, and the victim was able to track his stolen mobile phone's location and lead deputies to the suspect. (For more updates on this story and free news alerts for your neighborhood, sign up for your local Birmingham Patch morning newsletter.)
