Alleged home invader fatally shot in Warner Robins

An armed man was fatally shot early Sunday when he allegedly broke into an apartment in Warner Robins.

According to Jennifer Parson with Warner Robins Police, officers responded to a home invasion with shots fired call around 4 a.m. Sunday in the 200-block of Northlake Drive.

She says their initial investigation shows that 24-year-old Cartrell Brooks was armed with a handgun and tried to break into the apartment.

Brooks was shot ‘at least once’ when he entered the apartment and later died at a local hospital.

Two men were inside the apartment at the time – who Parson identified as Malandon West and James Alderson -- but she says police are still investigating who shot Brooks.

She says no charges have been filed at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
