Shooting at Heatherstone Apartments - NBC Right Now/KNDO/KNDU Tri-Cities, Yakima, WA |

KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Gun fire rang out early Sunday morning on the 1100 block of West 10th Avenue at the Heatherstone Apartments in Kennewick.

Police say a man was shot in the leg, but the injury was not life threatening.

People that live in the building told KNDU they heard two gun shots around 12:30am Sunday morning. They looked out their window where they say they saw multiple police cars arrive looking for the shooter.

The man we spoke with says he wants to remain anonymous for his safety.

"There was silence afterwards and then we heard the sirens. And then the police. The surreal thing was them approaching the house saying is the shooter inside."

Kennewick police say the shooting was possibly gang related and the investigation is ongoing.
