Vaseo Announces Basketball Tournament | MultifamilyBiz.com

PHOENIX (March 14, 2011) — Join Vaseo Apartment Homes on March 26 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for a March Madness-inspired basketball tournament and barbecue. Three local schools — North Canyon High, Mountain Sky Junior High and Lookout Mountain Elementary — will compete in the tournament, vying for a first-place prize of $1,000, a second–place prize of $750 and a third-place prize of $500. In addition, a second basketball tournament will be open to the community, with prizes up to $1,000. "Schools are the foundation of our community," says Robert Klein, President of Klein Financial Corporation and representative for Vaseo Apartment Homes' ownership. "Vaseo is proud to demonstrate our long-term commitment to our children, our schools and the greater Phoenix community though this family event. We proudly invite our neighbors to join us for a fun-filled day of food, music and games, as Vaseo officially launches the 'Vaseo Cares' program." During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to win a variety of furniture and electronics prizes, furnished by The RoomStore and Best Buy. This will also mark the end of Vaseo's "Leasing Madness" promotion — all residents who lease during the month of March will be entered into a drawing for a living room furniture package (provided by The RoomStore) and 55-inch flat screen TV (provided by Best Buy). Current residents who referred friends or family during the month are also eligible to win. The drawing will be held following the basketball tournaments. Located at the corner of 7th Street and Greenway Road in North Phoenix, Vaseo is a Klein Ventures Property professionally managed by Phoenix-based Alliance Residential Company. As the largest apartment property in the Phoenix metro, the Vaseo community, management and ownership are heavily involved in causes that are important to Phoenix residents. "In demonstration of the 'Vaseo Cares' mindset, Vaseo is proud to support a variety of qualified charitable and nonprofit organizations — such as Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), UMOM New Day Centers and the International Cancer Advocacy Network (ICAN) — through outreach, donations and active volunteerism," says Robert Hicks, Alliance Vice President of Operations for the Southwest. "We aren't just doing business in the local community — we are a part of the community." Vaseo also partners with charitable organizations through its affinity marketing program. Participating non-profits refer potential residents to the property; for those who lease, Vaseo donates a percentage of the rental amount to the organization. Beyond charitable outreach, Vaseo has taken an active role in helping enhance the neighborhood by improving the property and its surroundings. In addition to comprehensive upgrades to unit interiors, plans include adding a variety of amenities — such as a 1,600-square-foot fitness center, separate resident center, demonstration kitchen, and kids' room with Kinect for Xbox 360 and Wii stations — as well as 30-foot building wall signage. Vaseo is also cleaning up the wash adjacent to the public path alongside the property and augmenting the amenities accessed along the path — improvements include a refurbished park playground, resurfaced tennis and basketball courts, and the addition of a dog park. "Vaseo's tagline — 'Life Centered' — is intended to be much more than just a tagline," says Alliance Regional Manager Tina Schreiber, who oversees Vaseo. "It's an actual property attribute that builds community and fosters property appeal. Our goal is to be a partner to our neighborhood and the greater Phoenix community, and Vaseo's charitable and property enhancement efforts are geared toward helping us achieve this goal."
