Fire evacuates apartments near UCF

ORLANDO, Fla. - Firefighters battled a two-alarm blaze at an apartment complex near the University of Central Florida.

No one was injured in the fire, which broke out around 12:20 p.m. Tuesday at The Glenn Apartments on Heather Ridge Circle near University Boulevard and Rouse Road.

According to Orange County Fire Rescue, a three-story apartment building that's being renovated was evacuated because of the blaze. 

"2nd Alarm BLD, Heather Ridge Ci, smoke & fire from apt bld, being evac'd," OCFR tweeted.

Video from Local 6 helicopter Sky 6 showed flames shooting from the building before firefighters extinguished it.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

"We are working to find new homes for each resident who has been affected by the fire.  To address immediate needs, we have secured hotel accommodations for all residents who have been displaced," apartment officials said.

No other details were released.
