Officer-Involved Shooting at Shadow Ridge Apartments | News

TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) - Tallahassee Police were dispatched to an apartment complex after a call was made to 911 about a potential burglary in progress Wednesday night.

TPD responded to Shadow Ridge Apartments on West Tharpe Street just after 8:00p.m. The officer on duty matched the description from dispatch to a suspect at the scene.

According to TPD,  the officer and the suspect got in a struggle and that's when the officer discharged his weapon, shooting the victim.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital, his condition is unknown at this time.

There’s a big demand for more affordable housing in Charlotte, where rents and home prices have shot up much faster than wages over the past few years. Many of the apartments being built now target more affluent renters, waitlists for housing vouchers are long and starter homes are snapped up almost immediately.
