Woman Stabbed at Medical Center Apartment

An argument between three women in the parking lot of a northwest side motel ended quickly when one of the woman pulled a knife and stabbed another woman in the stomach, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police were called to the Limestone Oaks Apartments in the 9000 block of Wurzbach Road in the Medical Center about 1:15 this morning.

The 25 year old victim was rushed to the hospital with a knife wound that is not believed to be life threatening.

The other two women ran off.

There’s a big demand for more affordable housing in Charlotte, where rents and home prices have shot up much faster than wages over the past few years. Many of the apartments being built now target more affluent renters, waitlists for housing vouchers are long and starter homes are snapped up almost immediately.
