HPD makes arrest after fatal shooting at Deer Run Apartment Complex | News

Update, Nov. 20, 1:50 p.m.: The Harrisonburg Police Department has made an arrest. Male suspect Seneca Lee Graham, 26, of Harrisonburg, has been charged with one count of first degree murder and one count of use of a firearm while under commission of a felony. 

Police are still investigating the case.

Update, Nov. 19, 12:55 p.m.: The victim, Bradley Scott Johnson, 22, of Harrisonburg, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other individual, who is being held in custody, also sustained injuries and was transported to UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville.

According to Officer Wetherell, charges regarding this case are pending.

Update, Nov. 19, 11:45 a.m.: Wetherell doesn't believe any JMU students were involved in the incident.

The Harrisonburg Police Department responded to a call for service at the Deer Run Apartment Complex around 9:07 p.m. Friday evening.

Officers discovered one person suffering from a gunshot wound upon arrival to the 800 block of Port Republic Rd. The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Officer L. Brooke Wetherell with the HPD, another individual present at the scene was taken into custody.

This is the first fatal shooting in Harrisonburg since December 2013.

In a report from WHSV, an AirCare medical helicopter arrived to the scene to transport at least one individual to UVA Medical Center.

“Multiple officers have been called in to assist with the ongoing investigation,” Wetherell said. “Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are still interviewing witnesses and this investigation is in early stages … No other information is being released at this time.”
