Man shot in Avalon Park home invasion chased outside while...

ORLANDO, Fla. - A man was shot Sunday when two armed intruders forced their way into his Avalon Park apartment and beat him, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

The girlfriend of the shooting victim told deputies that while her boyfriend was in the shower there was a knock at the door of the apartment at 12102 Magazine Street. When she answered the door the two men pushed themselves inside the apartment.

The two armed men forced the woman to the ground then told her to call to her boyfriend and ask him to get out of the shower. When the male victim got out of the shower the men wrestled him to the ground and one or two handguns went off, the woman told deputies.

Deputies said they found three bullet casings on the living room carpet and at least three bullet holes in the door that were shot form the inside.

The man was shot in his right leg and treated at Orlando Regional Medical Center. He told deputies he is willing to testify in court.

A witness in the parking lot told deputies they saw three men running down the stairs and two of them beating up the naked victim.

Several witnesses said the men left in a white four-door vehicle, possibly a Toyota or a Lexus.

The woman described the home invaders as a black man with gold teeth around 6 feet tall, the second man was a white or Hispanic man around 6-feet tall.

The woman said she wanted to prosecute, but would not testify in court if called upon, according to the report.

K-9 units at the scene found multiple  baggies of marijuana inside the woman's car and she was arrested on drug charges, according to the report.
