Poor location - Review of Cielo Alto Apartments, Breuil-Cervinia, Italy

DO NOT GO TO THIS NASTY PIT. It should be condemned and torn down to let nature take over again. We drove 11 hours to stay at this dump and chose to actually sleep in our car. The fact that they think they can charge you for end of stay cleaning (not done at the beginning as reported by many other reviews) and that you are supposed to pay between £120-£140 for electric even in summer really sets the scene.

You'll be met in a foyer that looks a little rustic, the staff give the appearance of efficiency rather than friendliness though I cannot see any evidence of the former in the building. You are taken through the lobby which is dark, dingy, paper peeling off the ceilings and to what we worked out as the only lift operating. Inside the lift the walls are peeling away. The hallways are very dark and grim. I had nursed the hope that they spent all the money on the apartments but I was very quickly shown this was not the case.

The apartment consisted of a kitchen, shower room, living area, and two bedrooms. The bedrooms are separated by broken hanging partitions. You will be shown how not to use more than one light at a time without everything hissing and buzzing at you. You can't have the boiler on with the lights nor the dishwasher. I don't expect a crash course in how to switch various rcds off in what I thought was a high quality suite. The provide towels apparently but they seem to be made of cut up sheets, how they would work as towels I have no idea. The apartment had black mould all over the place and when you open what i thought was a cupboard a metal plate falls open to reveal naked electric blocks and water pump. Just at child height, how thoughtful.

There is no guide book, no guest information, the tv an ancient 14" crt had no channels at all, no dvd player or anything else to use. The carpets were torn, doors broken, wood cracked.

There is underground parking but you won't be offered it. Seemingly residents are forced into the visitor car park which is over full. You are given a one hour thirty minute check in slot. Miss it and you arent coming in. You are then given till 10am to get out so they can not bother to clean till 6pm for the next victims. Though by all accounts they will charge you for cleaning according to other reviews.

We looked around for 10 minutes, took photos and then left returning the keys. The back of our estate car turned out to be a lot cleaner, safer and pleasant than this joke of a place. Incidentally it sems to go by different names as well, we have seen residence coin au paradis and something else as well but the exterior shots are the same.

One final point. You may have seen the option for a "fitness centre" in high season. I have found a photo of this. It involves 3-4 cardio machines on the grass outside. Classy.

Save yourself a nightmare and book somewhere else.

But don't take my word for it, photos are attached.
