A new study maintains that two-thirds of Denver renters plan to move to another city, a figure higher than the national average, with most listing high rent costs in the Mile High City  as the main reason. At the same time, however, so many people from other places want to move here that the actual number of renters in Denver is likely to remain steady in the near future and could actually rise. These are among the findings in a provocative report from Apartment List. As laid out in the following Q&A with analyst Sydney Bennet , who was heavily involved in the project, renting Denverites have a variety of reasons for wanting to relocate. But the number of those who are considering such a move because of long commute times or concerns about safety, for instance, pale in comparison to folks who simply are having a hard time stretching their dollars far enough to keep a decent roof over their head. SOUTH SIOUX CITY , NE (KTIV) - One thing that ties all three Siouxland states together is the Missouri River, which can be seen as you drive along Interstate 29. Soon, there will be housing units able to enjoy the view from Flatwater Crossing , in South Sioux City . "We're about 95% complete with all of our road and streets, water, sewer and utility systems are coming to Flatwater," said Dennis Johnson, chief investment officer for Ho-Chunk, Incorporated. The $75- million dollar , ten- year development project will bring 600 apartment units , and 400 single family homes , to the two-thirds of a mile stretch along the Missouri River. And, like the city's focus to go green, Flatwater project leaders are doing the same. "A very large amount of green space here that'll have several trails," said Johnson. Some graduate students at Massachusetts Institute of Technology are pushing the university to build more on-campus housing, and using MIT’s plans to build in the heart of red- hot Kendall Square as leverage. A group of grad students and Cambridge residents Monday filed a proposal with the city that would prevent MIT from developing the 14-acre site of the Volpe Transportation Center — which MIT is buying from the federal government for $750 million — until it adds up to 1,800 more dorm beds for graduate students.
