Phoenix police investigating assault of transgender teen - 3TV

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) - Phoenix police are investigating after a transgender teen was apparently assaulted by up to 20 people at a west Valley apartment complex .  Dakota Kern says she was invited to a pool party at the complex near 35th and Dunlap avenues on August 16. The 18-year-old, who has identified as a woman for five years, says she knew some people at the pool, others were strangers.    Soon after, Kern says, people began shouting gay slurs so she and two friends started to leave the pool area.  As she was walking away, she says a man yelled “get it, get it” and a group of up to 20 people attacked her. PD: Man wanted after killing neighbor in Phoenix

PHOENIX - Phoenix police have set up a command center at an apartment complex after a deadly shooting. The shooting happened around 10:00 p.m. on Wedneday near 7th Street and Greenway Road at the Vaseo apartment complex . According to Phoenix police, two neighbors were involved in a verbal argument that leads to one of the men shooting the other. The man shot died on the scene. The suspect is still on the loose. People who live in the apartment complex said the argument started outside of an apartment but spread into an open area of the complex. A large presence of detectives and uniformed officers have gathered inside the apartment complex.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for this past Thursday's deadly terror attack in Barcelona, Spain, that killed and wounded people from at least 34 countries -- including the United States. This year alone, the Spanish police have arrested more than 20 people with links to ISIS.  Here in America, 100 people have been arrested for ISIS-related crimes over the last three years. The FBI devotes significant resources to identifying potential terrorists and sometimes spends years tracking them. The terror attack in Garland, Texas, two years ago was the first claimed by ISIS on U.S. soil.  It's mostly forgotten because the two terrorists were killed by local cops before they managed to murder anyone.  As Anderson Cooper first reported in March, we were surprised to discover just how close the FBI was to one of the terrorists. BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — The Latest on the Spain attacks (all times local): 5:15 a.m. Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has asked people to pray for a young Australian boy who is missing after a vehicle attack on a popular Barcelona promenade that killed 13 people. Turnbull said Saturday that the boy's mother was badly injured and is in a hospital following Friday's attack at the Las Ramblas promenade . Turnbull says the boy's family is searching for him. He did not release the boy's name. Turnbull says: "All of us as parents know the anguish his father is going through, and his whole family is going through, as they rush to seek to find him in Barcelona."
