We stayed at this apartment for 4 nights and it was just OK. The apartment itself is fine, it just was very poorly equipped . The opening pictures in the listing were of a beautiful horizon pool overlooking the sea. Nope. That pool was 2K away. You had to call for a bus to pick you up (there was no phone in the apartment) and pay 10 euros a day to use the pool. Very misrepresenting in the ads for this apartment. NO POOL. There were also many other NOs: no air conditioning, no phone, no Wi-Fi, no waste baskets, no hair dryer, no coffee maker, no toaster. The front door key was ridiculous to use. On the good side, it was a decent location close to the village of Amalfi (but too far to walk). The SITA bus stop was close by. The staff at La Pergola Hotel were very helpful and we used their Wi-Fi. The apartment did have tight parking for one car, and there were no steps to the apartment. It was a fine apartment - two stories, two bathrooms, and three bedrooms. Only one bed was made, th...

I didn’t cry while searching for a San Diego apartment , but I came close. Moving to the city on a Sunday night, I had a five-day reservation at a Motel 6 and needed to find an apartment fast . I also had my 6-year-old tabby cat with me and a new job as real estate reporter for the San Diego Union -Tribune to start the next day. I was fairly confident I’d find a place quickly because in the last decade I had managed to get apartments in London, Chicago, San Francisco, New York City, rural New Jersey, Northeast Pennsylvania and, most recently, Monterey. Not only did San Diego turn out to be the most difficult, it made me change nearly everything I thought I wanted. My criteria was a one- bedroom apartment near the beach that allows cats, a rent of no more than $1,200 and was fairly close to work. To say the least, I stayed at the Motel 6 longer than expected. Ignorance of what neighborhood I was in most of the time was exacerbated only by a rental market that has seen prices increase...

Playa del Carmen Mexico" alt="Cheap Apartment Playa del Carmen Mexico" /> My Gated Apartment Building Playa del Carmen, Mexico I’ve spent the last year living in Playa del Carmen , Mexico. My first cheap apartment near the beach only cost $500 a month. This is how I found it. Playa del Carmen is a laid- back beach town located in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. It’s a favorite spot for backpackers and expatriates from around over the world. Digital nomads like myself like to base themselves here for a few months to get work done. There are a lot of benefits that come with living in Playa del Carmen . Tasty cheap food , inexpensive housing, good public transportation , and white sand beaches make it ideal. Not to mention modern conveniences like fast internet, decent nightlife, and Walmart. But there are all kinds of fun things to do nearby as well. You can explore ancient Mayan ruins , go snorkeling with sea turtles, scuba dive underground cenotes , and more. Playa...

Apartment properties take great pride in their pools. For many, it's the most visible amenity. It's how they lease apartments. Prospective residents picture themselves relaxing at that beautiful pool on a hot summer day and can't wait to move in. Apartment pools can also be a hazard - especially for small children. Here are a few things to keep in mind when you live at a property with a swimming pool. No lifeguards – An apartment property isn 't the YMCA. There are no lifeguards. Even at a public pool with a lifeguard, there's no substitute for taking control of your own safety and that of your kids. Always swim with a buddy and watch your children at all times. If you are having a pool party, assign a dedicated per...
