Drum Property Group secures £17.5 million Royal Bank of Scotland funding deal

Scottish property developer, Drum Property Group has agreed an additional £17. 5 million finance package with Royal Bank of Scotland. The business, established in 2004, and based in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh, will use the Bank’s funding to further expand its residential investment portfolio and continue to invest across Scotland’s central belt. Drum Property Group ’s residential investment business is one of the largest private landlords in Scotland, whilst its development division is behind some of the country’s largest mixed-use development projects. The company has consent to build 350 apartments and 1,000,000 sq. ft. of office accommodation in the Tradeston area of Glasgow, in addition to 220 apartments in Finnieston. The Group also recently delivered retail developments in Uddingston, Helensburgh and Ipswich, and has just announced its appointment by Scottish Enterprise to deliver a 7.4-acre mixed-use site at Pacific Quay. With California Lawmakers Back from Recess, Housing Crisis Is in the Crosshairs

California state legislators are back in Sacramento after a month- long summer recess and they are looking to tackle the state’s growing housing crisis with a package of bills that could generate more than $3 billion for affordable housing as well as streamline new housing approval and construction. But lawmakers and political observers alike have noted that it won’t be an easy task to get the votes necessary to pass some of bigger-ticket legislation, like S.B. 2 and S.B. 3 , both of which have passed the State Senate but still need to get through the Assembly. And both require a two-thirds supermajority to pass. S.B. 2, introduced by State Senator Toni Atkins (D-San Diego), would place a $75 fee on real estate transactions and generate roughly $250 million a year annually.
