Huma Abedin made $65K in the months after Hillary's loss

Huma Abedin has gone high fashion and high society, with the Hillary Clinton aide enjoying a weekend in the Hamptons just days after she was featured in the September issue of 'W.' A single and ready to mingle Abedin, 41, was spotted on Sunday at the Southampton home of Moda Operandi founder Lauren Santo Domingo and her music executive husband Andres .  Lauren and Andres, whose father is billionaire Colombian business magnate Julio , were hosting their annual all- white Badminton tournament at the estate this weekend, which they scooped up for a reported $30 million. The couple split their time between that residence, an apartment in Paris and their $18.5million townhouse on Gramercy Park in New York City.  And while Abedin certainly does not have that kind of money, she still seems to be doing just fine in the wake of her boss' defeat last November, with the latest quarterly filings from the Hillary for America campaign revealing that the aide has received $64,369.94 ...

The Plaza Is for Sale, but a Part-Owner Has Other Ideas

“We are not selling our stake and are comfortable with our rights relating to any sale by others,” said Sarmad Zok, chief executive of the prince’s company, Kingdom Hotel Investments . “We are proud to have partnered with Ashkenazy to reinstate the glory of this unique asset.” The partners have a plan for an extensive modernization program to better compete with other five-star hotels in Manhattan and to reopen areas of the hotel that have been bogged down in renovations. It’ ll garner international attention .” Mr. Davis declined to comment on whether Kingdom Hotel Investments has ...

Nazis, IS, Antifa, the YPG, Democratic Landlords, the Spanish Civil War and Fake News

There’s been a lot happening this month.  I don’t have any great plans of action as to the way forward, but I have some knowledge of the background, in terms of how we got here, that seem worth sharing.  Basically I just need to process, and thought I’d do that out loud.  So here are a few reflections on the events of August, 2017, that may be intimately related to one another. Note:  any links that appear below will take you to songs on the subject, mostly written in the past few weeks… *     *     * The Spanish Civil War has been discussed in the media more in the past few weeks than I can remember in my lifetime.  The media has said more nice things about anarchists in the past few weeks than ever in my lifetime as well, and I’m pretty sure they have covered protests more lately than at any time since 1970 or so. At the beginning of the month I wrote a song, “Rojava,” after getting encrypted messages from the front lines of the war against Islamic State in Syria, sent by an anarchi...
