We love New York business. Here are 25 reasons why

1. If you can make it here… New York has long been the ultimate testing ground for businesses. But the city’s population density also makes it an important laboratory for startups, especially in today’s on-demand economy. Westbrook reverses decision to charge impact fees

Westbrook will not charge fees based on a development’s impacts to the school and sewer system. The decision is a reversal from last fall, when the Westbrook City Council expressed interest in the idea and planned to charge impact fees on all building projects with permits issued since Oct. 3. But when the final proposals for those fees came before the City Council last week, the group rejected them. A majority of councilors said they were worried the fees would discourage families and b...

A Brief History of The Defenders in the Marvel Universe : The Defenders first appeared in the comic book Marvel Feature #1  (December 1971) and were created by Roy Thomas and Ross Andru What set the Defenders apart from other the super teams that came before was that they had no charter or by-laws, no permanent headquarters, no fixed roster, and little affection for each other. The first Defenders team was formed by Doctor Strange when Yardoth, a Yannian (an alien humanoid race ) scientist, threatened Earth with the Omegatron doomsday device . Dr. Strange persuaded a reluctant Hulk and Namor, who had both helped him defeat the extra-dimensional, demonic beings called the Undying Ones, to help him thwart Yandroth’s scheme.    After the defeat of Yandroth, Hulk and Namor vowed never to work together again, but Strange managed to hold this informal allianc...
