How To Find Cheap Apartments In Playa Del Carmen

Image
Playa del Carmen Mexico" alt="Cheap Apartment Playa del Carmen Mexico" /> My Gated Apartment Building Playa del Carmen, Mexico I’ve spent the last year living in Playa del Carmen , Mexico. My first cheap apartment near the beach only cost $500 a month. This is how I found it. Playa del Carmen is a laid- back beach town located in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. It’s a favorite spot for backpackers and expatriates from around over the world. Digital nomads like myself like to base themselves here for a few months to get work done. There are a lot of benefits that come with living in Playa del Carmen . Tasty cheap food , inexpensive housing, good public transportation , and white sand beaches make it ideal. Not to mention modern conveniences like fast internet, decent nightlife, and Walmart. But there are all kinds of fun things to do nearby as well. You can explore ancient Mayan ruins , go snorkeling with sea turtles, scuba dive underground cenotes , and more. Playa...

The rich and famous love selling (and renting) luxury real estate almost as much as they like buying it. Provided you have the money, you can move into a home where the glitterati once slept. William Zeckendorf and the deal that brought the UN to New York

The 11th-hour deal that put the United Nations on a midtown site long covered by East River slums and slaughter-houses came in a frantic rush on Tuesday the 10th of December 1946, just the day before the General Assembly 's deadline for decision. All at once, John D. Rockefeller Jr. had offered to buy the land from developer William Zeckendorf and donate it to the UN. "If this property can be useful to you in meeting the great responsibilities entrusted to you by the people of the world," the old philanthropist told the delegates, "it will be a source of infinite satisfaction to me and my family." As it happened, the good deed would not only please the famously generous family , it would eliminate a potential rival to Rockefeller Center: Zeckendorf had announced plans to fill the site with a center of his own, with apartments, offices and a new Metropolitan Opera House . As it also happened, there was some question whether Zeckendorf had suffic...

Hurricane Harvey’s path could hit oil refineries in Texas — Quartz

Image
Hurricane Harvey is gaining steam, and is set for landfall on the coast of Texas late tonight (Aug. 25). By then it is expected to have gained the power of a category 3 hurricane, which would destroy poorly constructed houses , severely damage apartment buildings and shopping centers, and leave large areas without water and electricity for days or even weeks. But its effect on the energy industry is what many will be watching. The federally- controlled offshore waters of the Gulf of Mexico produce 17% of the US’s total crude oil output , while around half the US’s petroleum and natural gas refining capacity is situated along the gulf coast. Houston, some 30 miles (48 km) inland, is home to the country’s largest refinery and petrochemical complex . As ProPublica and the Texas Tribune reported last year, a direct hit from a big storm would cause enormous damage , not just economic but also environmental, since the complex stores huge quantities of dangerous chemicals. As well as ...

(Photo: Courtesy) LAS CRUCES - A new, 200- unit apartment complex is springing up on the city’s East Mesa and could be leasing the first units in about six months. Willow Springs Apartments will be located off of Bixler Avenue, north of US 70 and behind the now-closed Cattleman’s Steak House on Bataan Memorial West . The property is being developed by Dillon Mountain Enterprises , LLC. which is owned by Paul Curry and his son, Jared Curry. The Currys acquired the property in 2006 from a church which had plans to build on the site but opted to purchase a building in town instead. Construction on the 14.12-acre property will require the Currys to pave more than 1,000 feet of Bixler Avenue, one of the city’s oldest platted but undeveloped rights-of-way. The completion of Bixler will open up adjoining properties to development, Jared said. “We had the property for 11 years,” Jared said. “ Ten years ago our original t...
